Frequently Asked Questions

What is chiropractic care?

A chiropractic adjustment is the removal of pressure on the nervous system.

Think of a chiropractic adjustment like a removing a kink in a water hose. When there is a kink in the hose, water cannot flow as needed to your plants. Remove the kink and water flows freely.

When there is pressure from a misalignment at any level of the spine, the nervous system cannot send the information it needs to your organs, cells, and tissues – creating dis-ease in the body. When pressure along the spine is removed, information from the brain to all organs, cells, and tissues is restored!

What happens at a New Patient Appointment?

New Patient appointments consist of a full health history evaluation, digital posture and nerve scans and digital x-rays. Get complete details on the whole process on the What to Expect on Your First Visit page.

Will my insurance cover my chiropractic care?

Insurance coverage for chiropractic care varies widely by plan and provider. Your specific coverage will be checked on our first visit – just bring a copy of your insurance card to your new patient exam.

What's the difference between chiropractic care and physical therapy?

Physical therapy and chiropractic care often have the same end goal, but the modalities employed to reach the goal can often be quite different.

Physical therapy is the treatment of injury or disease in the body through various modalities in order to restore function. A chiropractor’s focus will not necessarily be the injury itself – but instead to remove pressure on the nervous system overall allowing the body itself to reestablish homeostasis.

All that said, chiropractic and physical therapy go hand in hand! Talk to the doctors about your specific questions.

How long is a chiropractic appointment?

The initial examination takes between 30-45 minutes. After that, you can expect each appointment to last between 10-15 minutes.

Will coming in once help me?

Yes, but retraining your body is a process. You don’t get a six pack overnight! Something that’s been there for a decade isn’t going to get solved in six months. The most effective chiropractic care is incremental.

What conditions can chiropractic care help relieve?

Chiropractic care commonly relieves the symptoms of sciatica, neck pain, back pain, herniated discs, hip pain, migraines, scoliosis, pinched nerves, pregnancy discomforts, and more. See our services for full details.
